His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, has praised Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen for his measures in timely rescuing and evacuating flood-hit victims to safety grounds.
"I would like to commend the wisdom and profoundly thank Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, for taking timely measures to help evacuate people from the flood-affected areas to safety places," wrote the monarch in a royal message to Samdech Techo Hun Sen yesterday.
His Majesty the King also expressed his sorrow over the loss of lives and properties caused by the ongoing flash floods and shared the suffering with the people across the country.
According to the royal message, Their Majesties the King and Queen-Mother have given donations to flood victims through Samdech Chaufea Veang Kong Sam Ol, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Royal Palace.
In reply, Samdech Techo Prime Minister on behalf of the Royal Government and the people of Cambodia thanked Their Majesties the King and Queen-Mother for their continued donations to relieve the people's hardships during this flood disaster.
The Premier wished the monarchs all the four gems of Buddha's Blessings: Longevity, Nobility, Health, and Strength.
The National Committee for Disaster Management reported that as of yesterday flash floods hit 19 of the 25 provinces and capital city, killing 18 people, leaving thousands of families homeless, and inundating hundreds of thousand hectares of agricultural land and many physical infrastructure.
