Number of construction permissions has seen a remarkable increase in the first two months of this year, reflecting the country’s healthy construction sector despite COVID-19 outbreak.
From January to February this year, 523 construction permissions have been issued, up from 300 during the same period in 2019.
H.E. Seng Loth, Spokesman at the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, said that the rising number of construction permissions issued in the first two months of this year showed that the construction sector has not been affected by the on-going COVID-19 pandemic.
“Based on the number of issued construction permissions, the sector is on the growing trend, and there is no sign of negative impact from COVID-19 yet, but in the months to come, we will keep following up the effect from COVID-19 on the sector,” underlined the spokesperson.
