Japan To Encourage More Investments and Tourists to Cambodia

Japan is committed to encouraging more Japanese investors and tourists to come to Cambodia.

The commitment was made by H.E. Kenji Yamada, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan in an event of Cambodia Festival 2019 from May 3 to 4 in Yoyogi Park Tokyo of Japan.

H.E. Kenji Yamada appreciated Cambodia’s rapid development in all sectors, adding that Cambodia is an attractive investment destination with potential young workforce.

He also spoke highly of long-lasting and intimate cooperation between Cambodia and Japan.

Last year, Cambodia welcomed 6.2 million foreign tourists, of them more than 210,000 (increase by 3.5 percent compared to the previous year) were Japanese.

During the first two months of 2019, 1.2 million foreign tourists visited Cambodia, and about 40,000 (3.1 percent up) of them were Japanese.

The Kingdom expected to receive over 230,000 Japanese visitors throughout this year, 2019.
