Kirirom National Park, officially known as Preah Soramrit Kosamak Kirirom National Park, is a natural resort on a mountain, about 700 metres above the sea level.
The park is located in Kirirom commune, Phnom Sruoch district, Kampong Speu province, approximately 117 kilometres southwest of Phnom Penh capital.
Mr. Sao Saran, Director of Kampong Speu Provincial Department of Tourism, shared some of the tourism potential Kirirom National Park, saying that it has four main sites, including the Chambak waterfall community, the O' Som Chat resort, a religious centre and a large Japanese-invested resort.
For the resort invested by Japanese investor, he added, it is a huge and important tourist site, especially in the dry season. It is cool there with nice environment. This is always an attractive site to all tourists.
Kampong Speu is one of the 25 provinces and capital of the Kingdom of Cambodia. It is a popular tourist destination in the past and at present, in which Kirirom National Park is a key tourist attraction of the province.
According to figures from Kampong Speu Provincial Tourism Department, tourist arrivals to the province in the first nine months of this year were 262,366, up 16.2 percent from 225,736 during the same period of 2018.
The number of national visitors was recorded at 250,086, a year-on-year increase by 16.7 percent, while that of foreign tourists reached 12,280, up 6.9 percent.
