Khmer Swimming Federation (KSF) will organise the 2021 Open Water Championship at Morodok Techo National Stadium this weekend.
The update was shared by Mr. Hem Kiri, Secretary General of KSF, adding that the event will take place on Nov. 7 and there will be two subjects – 5 kilometre long male and 3 kilometre long female contests.
The event aims to inspire long-distant swimming and to open opportunities for Cambodian national athletes to get more trained.
The Open Water Championship 2021 will allow participation from only the Cambodian national swimming athletes who have been trained, he added.
Mr. Hem Kiri hoped that the competition will help the federation increase the number of Cambodian athletes for the SEA Games as well as other international tournaments in the future.
