Local Tourists Flock to Visit Siem Reap Province during Pchum Ben Festival

Tens of thousands of national tourists visited ancient temples and other tourist attractions in Siem Reap province, during their three-day holiday of Pchum Ben Festival or Festival for the Dead.

Mr. Ngov Sengkak, Director of Siem Reap Provincial Tourism Department, said from Sept. 27 to 29, 2019 Siem Reap province attracted in total 244,074 visitors, up 5.01 percent compared to the same period last year.

Of them, more than 230,000 were local tourists, up 9.52 percent, and 14,075 others were foreign tourists, down 37.23 percent, he pointed out.

The most visited sites in Siem Reap province are Angkor Archeological Park, Tonle Sap Great Lake, Baray Tek Thla, Phnom Kulen, Kampong Phluk village, and Mkak dam.
