Malaysian Businessmen and Investors Encouraged to Invest in Cambodia

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minster of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has encouraged more Malaysian investors and businessmen to invest and do business in Cambodia.

The Cambodian Premier told reporters of the encouragement at a press conference held here around noon following his bilateral meeting with visiting Malaysian Prime Minister H.E. Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen raised some potential sectors such as real estate, construction, auto spare parts, infrastructure, and halal food to his Malaysian counterpart.

Concerning bilateral trade, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said he was glad to see the continuous increase of the two-way trade between Cambodia and Malaysia even in light of COVID-19.

Last year, the bilateral trade was amounted to over US$500 million, a 13 percent increase compared to that in a year before.

In the last five years, Malaysian investment was ranked third in Cambodia.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister placed high hope that Cambodia will receive more investment from Malaysia under the former’s new investment law.
