Senior Minister and Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation H.E. Cham Prasidh appreciated the outcomes of the 3i (Investing in Infrastructure) programme financed by the Government of Australia.
The senior minister expressed his appreciation when receiving the 3i Deputy Team Leader Ms. Tin Mola at the ministry on Tuesday.
Ms Tin Mola reported to the senior minister about the progress of the programme worth about US$17.9 million, wherein US$15.6 million is supporting the water supply sector and the rest US$2.3 goes to electricity assistance.
Grant assistance of the programme is bridging financial gaps related to the mentioned sectors in 81 locations in 150 communes across Cambodia benefiting about one million Cambodians, she said.
The deputy team leader thanked H.E. Cham Prasidh as well as the ministry for the good cooperation and hoped to receive further recommendations from him to better the implementation of the programme lasting from August 2015 to December 2021.
According to H.E. Cham Prasidh, the programme is implemented in close collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, and 3i helpfully focuses the very basic utility access very well aligned with the commitment of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
