H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister, Minister of Public Works and Transport, received here on Monday a courtesy call from Mr. Mark Wong, new CEO of Huawei Cambodia.
According to a news release of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), the purpose of the meeting was to discuss Huawei's collaboration and support of the MPWT's IT infrastructure development by utilising the company's Information Communication Technology solutions.
Mr. Mark Wong also briefed H.E. Minister on the progress of a major Cambodian initiative, (in conjunction with China Communications Construction Co.), involving the installation of submarine cables between Hong Kong and Sihanoukville. Once installed, these internet cables will allow Cambodia to enjoy reliable and enhanced connectivity, he said.
For his part, H.E. Sun Chanthol suggested Mr. Mark Wong collaborating with Department of Information Technology and Public Relations of MPWT to explore areas in which Huawei can be of specialised support.
