Delegation of China Merchants Group, led by its Director of Overseas Business Mr. Tiang Luning, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport at the ministry on Wednesday.
The purpose the meeting was to present results of the first feasibility study on master plan for Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville Autonomous Port development and expansion by China Merchants Group, in response to a request of H.E. Minister while he was paying an official visit to China in March 2019.
H.E. Sun Chanthol welcomed the study of China Merchants Group for Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville Autonomous Port development and expansion, considering them as an important part to be included into Cambodia Logistics Master Plan Development.
The minister requested China Merchants Group to collaborate with the General Directorate of Logistics and both seaports to collect more inputs.
According to H.E. Sun Chanthol, the study of Phnom Penh Autonomous Port expansion capacity has been completed by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Supreme National Economic Council.
