Minister Reassures Cambodia’s Promising Response to COVID-19 Fallouts

H.E. Vongsey Vissoth has reiterated the Royal Government of Cambodia’s promising response to the fallouts of the COVID-19.

The delegate minister attached to the Prime Minister, and permanent secretary of state of the Ministry of Economy and Finance highlighted the effort in a recent videoconference to review International Monetary Fund (IMF) study results on Integrated Policy Framework with ASEAN Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors.

The global epidemic has seriously affected Cambodia's growth, especially the garment, tourism and construction, and only the agricultural sector remains as a driver for the national economy.

However, he added, the Royal Government of Cambodia has introduced timely and effective measures to address the crisis.

National budget has been reprioritised to allocate about US$1 billion to address the emergency areas.
