The National Employment Agency of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training in collaboration with UNDP’s United for Youth Employment to Cambodia, has produced a video on job consultations to provide related information for the youths, students and job seekers.
Entitled “Dr. Job”, this video was launched at Cambodian-Japan Cooperation Centre in Phnom Penh yesterday under the presidency of H.E. Ith Samheng, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training and Mr. Nick Beresford, UNDP Cambodia Country Director.
“The launch of this project is important and timely to contribute to the Royal Government of Cambodia’s efforts in developing human resources and promoting Cambodia’s labour market to be more effective through the preparation of a potential labour force, a clear career path and choice of majors in accordance to the labour market’s demands […], especially preparing (the youths) for the job market and increasing easier access to jobs […],” he said.
For his part, Mr. Nick Beresford spoke highly of the video, stressing that it will help narrowing skill gap, which obstructs access to decent jobs, among the Cambodian youths
Financially supported by Swedish Cooperation and Development Agency (SDC) through UNDP, this video clip will have in total seven episodes focusing on different phases of career planning, and each topic has been drawn from the real needs of the youths and the labour market.
The video will be shown widely, including on NEA’s website and facebook, YouTube, TV and job centres.
