More Cruise Ships Dock at Cambodian Port with Increasing Visitors

Nearly 30,000 international tourists visited Cambodia through cruise ships docking at Preah Sihanouk province’s port for the first four months of 2019.

The figure was shared recently by Director General of Sihanoukville Autonomous Port H.E. Lou Kim Chhun, stressing that the number suggested an increase of about 78 percent compared to the same period last year.

The visitors arrived Cambodia through 30 tourist cruise ships – almost 58 percent up compared with the number of such ships docked at the port in 2018’s first four months.

According to the director general, the ships idled an average of about 15 hours at Cambodian port for their guests to tour the country.

Cambodia observed noticeable rise of visitors via tourist cruise ships and many of them showed interest to spend more time to travel in Cambodia.

In 2018, continued the same source, 37 tourist cruise ships along with 40,598 visitors docked at Preah Sihanouk province’s port, and 30 ships loaded with 25,538 tourists anchored the port in 2017.
