More Than 230,000 Tourists Enjoy First Day of Five-day Holiday

On Aug. 17, 2020, the first day of the five-day holiday allowed by the Royal Government to compensate the suspended Khmer New Year holiday, 233,329 people travelled to different tourism destinations across the country.

A report of the Ministry of Tourism, Kampot province attracted 30,804 people, Siem Reap province 28,140 people, Kep province 18,557 people, Preah Sihanouk province 18,604 people, Battambang province 14,627 people, Preah Vihear province 10,470 people, Mondulkiri province 8,828 people, and

Rattanakiri province 8,208 people.

According to the observation, people have a better understanding of the implementation of the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Tourism Safety measures against COVID-19, and the provincial administration, including the provincial Departments of Tourism and Health, have worked actively to guide and promote the implementation of safety measures.

At the same time, tourism destinations are also doing their best to carry out the Tourism Safety measures, especially temperature screening, disinfectant spray, guest registration, and encouragement of tourists to permanenly wear facemasks or scarves, and some main resorts have even stationed ambulance.
