The National Road Safety Committee (NRSC) has issued an appeal on the prevention of road accidents during the public holiday for civil servants, workers and employees from Aug. 17 to 21, 2020.
The committee commended the vast majority of road users for their willingness in respecting and implementing the road traffic law, which has contributed to reducing the loss of life, injuries and property damage caused by road accidents, and urged for more attention to traffic accidents which remain a serious challenge for Cambodia.
“As Cambodia is fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic and as the Royal Government has allowed a holiday from Aug. 17 to 21 in compensation for the suspended Khmer New Year holiday in April, the NRSC would like to appeal to the public who are road users, in addition to the implementation of preventive measures against COVID-19, to continue paying high attention and taking part in obeying the road traffic law,” it said.
The NRSC expressed its strong hope that all road users will abide by the road traffic law as well as follow the appeal for the safety and security during the forthcoming holiday and forever.
