Cambodia has exported nearly 1 million tonnes of milled rice as of the third quarter of 2020, and the figure could reach 1.2 million tonnes in a near future.
The record was revealed on Tuesday by the Cambodia Rice Federation, underlining that the export followed the memorandum of understanding inked by Cambodia and China in 2014.
According to Oknha Song Saran, President of the Cambodia Rice Federation, the cooperation between the two countries was grounded on long-term insights of the leaders.
It is very aligned with the target of the Royal Government of Cambodia to export one million tonnes of milled rice to the international market by 2021, he added.
