New Cambodian Ambassadors Committed to Protect the Nation’s Interests

Newly appointed Cambodian ambassadors have been committed to do their best to protect the independence and sovereignty as well as the supreme interests of the nation.

The commitment was emphasised here this morning at the National Assembly (NA) Palace by nine new Cambodian ambassadors who paid a courtesy call on NA President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, before their departure for their respective missions in foreign countries.

H.E. Ket Sophann, Ambassador of Cambodia to France, who represented the other eight ambassadors, said resolving the difficulty of Cambodian people, students and migrant workers in the hosting countries, especially during this COVID-19 crisis, is also a priority of their missions.

Economic diplomacy and parliamentary diplomacy are another focus, he underlined.

Samdech Heng Samrin encouraged the ambassadors to continue strengthening and expanding the ties of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between Cambodia and the host countries, to promote the national identity (culture, arts, tradition …) and dignity, to disseminate the real situation of Cambodia, and to provide necessary services for Cambodian nationals in the host countries.

The nine ambassadors will leave shortly for their respective missions in the United Kingdom, Serbia, Turkey, France, Laos, North Korea, Germany, Indonesia, and Singapore.
