Norway Provides Over US$172,000 to Support Cambodia’s Mine Clearance Effort

Norway has provided US$172,791 for mine clearance activities in Cambodia, focusing on capacity development.

The assistance package was inked on Jan. 12 between the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) and the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA).

H.E. Ly Thuch, Cambodian Senior Minister and CMAA First Vice President, expressed thanks to the Government of Norway for the support.

For more than 30 years, the Royal Government of Cambodia through the support from various stakeholders has cleared mines from more than 2,378 square kilometres of land benefiting more than seven million people.
