A total of 452.692 domestic tourists visited different tourist attractions across Cambodia in the first three weeks of June 2020.
The encouraging figure was revealed by Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon recently, adding that the trend indicates roughly 7.24 percent increase compared to the first three weeks of May.
Of the total number, 1.295 were foreign tourists, showing the upturn of around 39,34 percent, and 441.397 were local tourists, up 6,61 percent, it pointed out.
Coastal areas – mainly Kampot and Kep provinces – attracted most visitors or almost 50 percent, while sites in Siem Reap province saw continuing signs of recovery as some tourist businesses, especially hotels, guesthouses and restaurants have reopened, added H.E. Thong Khon.
