Some 70,870 people spent their weekend at different tourist attractions across the country, especially at ecotourism and coastal areas, during the second weekend of this month, pointed out H.E. Thong Khon, Cambodian Minister of Tourism.
The figure shows a decrease of 9.59 percent compared to the previous weekend, and a decline of 50.69 percent compared to the same period of 2020.
Of the domestic visitors, he indicated, 70,117 were national tourists, and 754 were foreign visitors.
The most visited tourism destinations were Phnom Penh capital, followed by Kampong Speu, Kampot, Preah Sihanouk, Battambang, and Kandal provinces, H.E. Minister added.
The Ministry of Tourism has so far advised the provincial and municipal tourism departments and tourism-related businesses as well as other relevant parties to strengthen the health preventive measures to ensure safety of the tourists and community.
