PM Reconfirms Cambodia’s Foreign Policy and Sovereignty

Cambodia’s foreign policy and its sovereignty were emphasised this afternoon by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.
Addressing to a get-together with Preah Sihanouk provincial official and road construction technical team in Sihanoukville as part of his trip to the coastal province, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said Cambodia is a sovereign state which does not support or oppose any country.

“I have repeatedly stated that Cambodia is an independent and sovereign state. Cambodia does not join a country to be against another. Cambodia does not allow any foreign forces to build their bases on our territory and we don’t wish to establish our military bases on foreign territories, except under the UN umbrella,” he underlined.

According to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Cambodia will welcome all foreign forces, not only China for joint military drills. Furthermore, Cambodia’s navy base in Ream will welcome all foreign military ships if there is a request to join any military exercise.
