Preparation for Cambodia-Mongolia free trade negotiations has been kick-started in the first inter-ministerial meeting engaging the working group tasked for the negotiations.
The discussion took place early this week here in Phnom Penh under the chairmanship of H.E. Reach Ra, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce and the president of working group of Cambodia-Mongolia free trade negotiations.
Representatives from concerned institutions and Ministries of Economy and Finance; Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; and Labour and vocational Training, and the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) participated in the meeting.
The meeting focused mainly on collection of inputs from relevant ministries on documentations prepared by Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA).
According to H.E. Reach Ra, a feasible study to establish the Cambodia-Mongolia free trade agreement has been carried out in accordance with the Royal Government of Cambodia’s Rectangular Strategy-Phase IV in diversification of markets increasing inflow of trade and economic restoration in the aftermath of COVID-19 crisis.
