Ministry of labour is capacitating its officials to promote occupational safety and health at small construction sites across Cambodia.
In cooperation with the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training has organised such training session for trainers from its 25 capital and provincial line departments earlier at the ministry here in Phnom Penh.
It was part of a joint endeavour with ILO in work improvement at small construction sites, known in short as WISCON, while Cambodia's construction sector is booming and employing many workers.
From the capacitation, participating officials picked up a participatory approaches to improving safety, health and working conditions and will provide echo-training to workers at the construction sites.
The escalation of the knowledge will contribute essentially to mitigate risks for workers at construction sites, considered as the most danger-prone workplaces.
