Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has praised achievements in physical infrastructure development led by Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
Samdech Sar Kheng made the appreciation while presiding over the inauguration ceremony of five bridges in five districts of Banon, Samlot, Borvel, Ek Phnom and Kamrieng in Battambang province this morning.
Samdech Sar Kheng thanked the Civil Engineering Department of Ministry of National Defence and competent authorities for their contribution to the said achievements.
According to a report read by H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport during the event, Cambodia has achieved the road construction and rehabilitation of 16,292 kilometres long, up to last year.
About 8,620 kilometres or about 53 percent of the roads are rubberised asphalt concrete (RAC).
The expansion of 157 kilometre roads from two to four lanes has been completed, and of other 431 kilometres is progressing, while 17 bridges of 16,067 metres long have been built � continued the minister.
