South Korea Donates Fire Forest Vehicles to Cambodia

The Republic of Korea has donated five fire forest vehicles to the Cambodia Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries through the Asian Forest Cooperation Organisation (AFoCo).

The handover ceremony took place here yesterday under the presidency of H.E. Veng Sakhon, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Park Heung-Kyeong at the Institute of Forest and Wildlife Research and Development (IRD).

H.E. Veng Sakhon expressed his high appreciation for the Government of the Republic of Korea, AFoCo, and Korea-Mekong Forest Cooperation Centre for the donation which will contribute to preventing the forest fire disaster, and for experience sharing on forest fire management, forest restoration, and forest development for the benefit of human beings.

Mr. Chencho Norbu, Executive Director of AFoCo, expressed his sincere thanks for the support and good collaboration from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, adding that the donation reaffirmed the willingness of South Korea in providing further support for Cambodia for forest development and conservation.
