Ministry of water resources has convened a technical discussion meeting on strategic cooperation for the implementation of ADB MFF (Multitranche Financing Facility) project toward water security in Cambodia.
H.E. Chann Sinath, Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology chaired the meeting taking place recently here in Phnom Penh.
The discussion followed a five-day mission of Asian Development Bank (ADB) headquarter delegation led by Ms. Junko Sagara in Cambodia which aimed at the rollout of ADB MFF phase one.
All participants agreed on the initial implementation of ADB MFF focusing on river and sub-river basins and irrigation systems across Cambodia.
For the next steps of the project as well as other relevant initiatives, the emphasis will be on water production, management, control and use for all sectors in order to bring about water security in Cambodia.
The discussion meeting was attended by representatives of relevant government bodies and development partners � including ministries of environment, and economy and finance; Asian Development Bank; Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA); and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of Australia.
According to H.E. Chann Sinath, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology H.E. Lim Kean Hor planned to visit Australia to liaise DFAT and ADB as co-financers to further expand strategic support in water sector of Cambodia.
