The Government of Switzerland has announced its financial support of US$12 million to support Kantha Bopha Children's Hospitals for three years, from 2019 to 2021.
The financial assistance was made known by H.E. Ms. Helene Budliger Artieda, newly appointed Swiss Ambassador to Cambodia, during her meeting here on Wednesday with H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Koy Kuong, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation told reporters after the meeting.
The Bangkok-based ambassador also recalled Switzerland's support to Cambodia's various sectors, including agriculture, food security, mine clearance, good governance and health by contributing some US$60 million to endorse the humanitarian activities of Kantha Bopha Children's Hospitals from 1994 to 2018.
For his part, H.E. Prak Sokhonn thanked the Swiss side for its assistance for the development of Cambodia and wished to strengthen the bilateral trade this year.
The Cambodian DPM asked H.E. Ms. Helene Budliger Artieda to help encourage more Swiss investors and tourists to do business and visit Cambodia.
