The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste has shown its profound gratitude to the Kingdom of Cambodia for the medical assistance in combating COVID-19 pandemic.
“On behalf of the Government of Timor-Leste, I express my profound gratitude to the Government and people of Cambodia for the spirit of solidarity and partnership for providing 1 million masks and other medical equipment to the Government and people of Timor-Leste,” said H.E. Ms. Dra Adaljiza Albertina Xavier Reis Magno, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Timor-Leste, at the handover ceremony of Cambodia’s donation in medical supplies to Timor-Leste, held this morning at the Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport in Dili, the capital of Timor-Leste.
The provision of this humanitarian assistance will significantly help the ongoing government’s efforts in fighting the global pandemic, she underlined.
For his part, H.E. Ouch Borith, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister and Permanent Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who represented the Royal Government of Cambodia, said the medical assistance is a testimony to the solidarity between the two peoples in this difficult time of unprecedented health crisis.
He was convinced that the excellent relations and cooperation between the two countries will be further expanded and strengthened for the mutual benefits of the two peoples, contributing to peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
The donation includes 1,000,000 facemasks, 50,000 fabric facemasks, 10,000 masks N95, 10,000 goggles, 10,000 PPE sets, 250 units of intra temperature manual check, 10,000 face shields, 10 ventilator machines for ICU Set, 10 patient monitors+accessories model: Vista 120, 250 containers (25kg each) of ChloramineB Powder, 500 sets of safety plastic boots PR, and 1,000 units of hand liquid soap.
In November, Cambodia also donated medical supplies to Laos and Myanmar in contribution to fighting against the COVID-19 health crisis in the region as well as the world.
