Transport Minister: Cambodia Welcomes Foreign Investment in All Sectors

Cambodia is open to foreign investment in all sectors, particularly road infrastructure, transport and logistics.

The remark was made by H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport, while receiving a delegation of CMA CGM (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., led by Mr. Laurent Olmeta, CEO of CMA CGM Asia Pacific Limited, at the ministry office on Nov. 1.

The meeting touched on the areas of waterway transport, port, and logistics in Cambodia, as well as the expressway development.

On the occasion, H.E. Sun Chanthol informed his guests about Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (PAS) and Phnom Penh Autonomous Port (PPAP), container port expansion at PAS, construction of Kampot multipurpose port, Phnom Penh Logistics Centre Development study project, a canal study project to connect waterway from Tonle Bassac to Kep, Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway which has just ended its one-month trial period, and Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway project which would reach an agreement in the near future.

The minister stressed that transport and logistics sector in Cambodia has been growing rapidly, worthy of foreign direct investment (FDI), and the Kingdom fully welcomes foreign investment.
