The World Food Programme (WFP) has pledged to continue a good cooperation with Cambodia, including the Ministry of Planning to boost food supplement micronutrients programme.
The commitment was made by Ms. Claire Conan, Representative and Country Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Cambodia in a meeting with H.E. Chhay Than, Senior Minister and Minister of Planning here in Phnom Penh recently.
The country director continued that WFP will also continue to assist the ministry with data updates on poor households, data digitisation, and socio-economic survey, demography and health surveys.
From his end, H.E. Chhay Than spoke highly of the fruitful cooperation between Cambodia and WFP, stressing that the organisation has contributed significantly to supporting the government, especially in promoting food security.
The senior minister informed Ms. Claire Conan that next year, the ministry will cooperate with development partners to process the survey on agricultural census, demography and health to evaluate people’s health situation to set policies to address it.
He also shared with her the Royal Government of Cambodia’s efforts in helping the poor and victims of COVID-19 through its cash assistance programme; and the ministry’s work on the ID-poor.
