Another 204 Cambodian blue helmet troops, 10 of them are females, from Multi-skills Engineering Unit 495 have departed for the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Central African Republic.
H.E. Lieutenant General Sem Sovanny, Director General of the National Centre for Peacekeeping Forces, Mines and ERW Clearance, presided over an official event to see them off at Phnom Penh International Airport recently.
The Cambodian blue helmet troops will replace the team of engineering unit 594 who came back in the afternoon of the same day.
H.E. Gen. Sem Sovanny recommended them to foster solidarity, mutual respect and close cooperation with their peers and people of Central African Republic.
Since 2006, Cambodia has sent over 6,000 troops � some 300 of whom are women � for the UN peacekeeping operations in Sudan, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Chad, Cyprus, Lebanon, Mali and Syria.
