Cambodia has signed a financing agreement with the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) for its assistance to modernise electrical transmission in the Kingdom.
The update was shared recently by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The agreement was inked by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth and AFD Chief Executive Officer Mr. Rémy Rioux in Paris of France.
Worth about 29.1 million Euro, the financing entails concessional loan of 25 million Euro and grant aid of 4.1 million Euro.
Currently, more than 80 percent of Cambodian villages have access to electricity, and the assistance will contribute essentially to the commitment of the Royal Government of Cambodia to allow the access in all villages by 2020.
H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth was leading a Cambodian delegation for a mission to France and promoting the latest progress of Cambodia in various occasions he was part of.
