ACCOR - the world leading hotel group in hospitality - is optimistic about Cambodia's tourism sector, according to a news release issued after Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received Ms. Maud Bailly, CEO of Sofitel, MGallery and Emblems and Member of ACCOR's Luxury and Lifestyle Executive Committee during his stay in Paris on Jan. 15. In the meeting, Ms. Maud Bailly briefed Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet on her company's investment in Cambodia and expressed her optimism that the tourism sector in Cambodia will see more progress this year. ACCOR Group has been investing in the hotel sector with modern and mid-range hotels and boutique hotels, which contributes to enhancing the image and prestige of Cambodia, she added. Ms. Bailly said that ACCOR, through Sofitel, which operates businesses around the world, has been taking part in promoting the Cambodian culture and the magnificence of the Angkor resort to encourage more tourists to visit Siem Reap in 2024. I n response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet thanked the ACCOR Group for its investment in Cambodia, and emphasised that the Royal Government of Cambodia has launched a special programme "Visit Siem Reap 2024" which will help revitalise the tourism sector and create jobs for the people.
