Acting Head of State Urges Officials to Safeguard National Stability and Improve Public Services

Pursat: Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on May 30 urged officials at all levels to continue safeguarding national stability and maintaining public order while enhancing public service delivery to citizens.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Acting Head of State spoke at a meeting with 775 members of provincial, city, district, commune, and Sangkat councils, as well as heads of provincial departments and units in Pursat province. Samdech Techo emphasized the importance of implementing the Safe Village-Commune Policy, addressing issues such as robbery, drug trafficking, cybercrime, and other offences.

He commended civil servants and local authorities in Pursat for their commitment to serving the people and maintaining peace, security, and social order. He encouraged commune and Sangkat councils to continue providing essential public services efficiently and promptly.

Samdech Techo also expressed support for strengthening tax and customs revenue collection and preventing tax evasion to ensure adequate state revenue for national development. He urged authorities to continue supporting the families of frontline soldiers, disabled veterans, fallen heroes, and former combatants.

The Acting Head of State reminded officials to avoid inactivity and misuse of authority, highlighting that public servants have a duty to serve the people. He urged local authorities to resolve land disputes quickly and fairly, especially through out-of-court mechanisms, and to protect natural resources from destruction.

The meeting was part of Samdech Techo's tenth mission and the eleventh province and capital visited under his nationwide outreach programme with local leaders and civil servants. This initiative aims to strengthen accountability, improve local governance, and enhance public service delivery.

According to Pursat Provincial Governor H.E. Khoy Rida, the province has made notable progress in infrastructure and economic development. Pursat hosts major energy projects, including hydropower plants and a 240-megawatt solar power station, with additional renewable energy projects underway.

The Governor further stated that the province houses several industrial facilities, such as the Ford vehicle assembly plant, electronics factories, garment factories, and water treatment plants, providing employment for more than 15,800 workers.
