Phnom penh: Air Cambodia, the national flag carrier, has marked a significant milestone with the unveiling of its new brand identity and aircraft livery at a ceremony held at Techo International Airport (KTI). The event was presided over by H.E. Mao Havannall, Minister in Charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, and attended by representatives of the airline and relevant stakeholders.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the new logo and livery were officially approved by the Royal Government of Cambodia on November 7, 2025, following the airline's rebranding from Cambodia Angkor Air to Air Cambodia in September 2024. H.E. Mao Havannall emphasized that the new logo symbolizes Air Cambodia's role in showcasing the Cambodian national identity on a global stage and reflects the progress made in civil aviation, tourism, trade, and cultural exchanges.
The centerpiece of the ceremony was the airline's third ATR72-600 aircraft, symbolizing a renewed ambition rooted in national heritage. The new brandmark draws inspiration from Cambodia's national bird, the Giant Ibis, known as Tror Yorng in Khmer. This emblem, representing guardianship and strength, features 18 feathers reminiscent of modern jet-engine turbine blades, with an upward 45-degree beak symbolizing energy and renewal.
The brand identity is further enhanced by a color palette of Blue, Celestial Gold, and White, while the aircraft livery features a striking blue tail and fuselage with red highlights, reflecting the national colors. The transition to the new visual identity will be gradual, with the previous logo still visible during the update process.
Air Cambodia is implementing its brand refresh strategy alongside an ambitious fleet expansion. In 2025, the airline received three new ATR72-600 regional aircraft and signed agreements to purchase 20 Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 20 COMAC C909 series aircraft. The airline has reportedly been profitable for three consecutive years since 2023, reversing previous losses.
H.E. Mao Havannall commended Air Cambodia's achievements, including agreements with Boeing and COMAC for new aircraft acquisitions and expanding flight routes despite challenges such as territorial conflicts with Thailand and global geopolitical tensions. The State Secretariat of Civil Aviation continues to be a strategic partner, promoting air transport growth and infrastructure development as part of Cambodia's 7th-term National Development Strategy.
In 2025, Cambodia's air transport sector saw 36 domestic and international airlines connecting to 52 cities across 18 countries and special administrative regions. The country welcomed approximately 7 million air passengers, marking a 12 percent increase compared to 2024.
