Alibaba Group's AliExpress said Friday it will receive no commissions from its South Korean partners that sell their products through the Chinese e-commerce retail platform until December for "mutual growth." AliExpress launched the K-Venue marketplace in October to allow small and medium-sized Korean firms to sell home appliances, food and beverages and other daily necessities. The Chinese platform initially adopted the no-commission policy for the benefit of the local partners and consumers. It extended the program twice in March and June, the company said in a statement. In recent years, Chinese e-commerce platforms, including PDD Holdings' Temu and AliExpress, have been aggressive in their marketing to woo customers in Korea away from bigger local rivals, such as Coupang Inc.
