Preah vihear: The ASEAN Observer Team in Cambodia (AOT-KH) has continued their visit to Techo Morakot Primary School located in Techo Morakot village, Morakot commune, Choam Ksan district, Preah Vihear province, for observation, verification, and reporting. The visit, which began at 10:20 a.m on Tuesday, was coordinated by the Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG) and led by the Head of Mission (HOM) of AOT-KH from the Philippines.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, a press release issued by the Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia highlighted that Techo Morakot Primary School is an educational facility serving children in the local community. The Ministry also revealed that in December 2025, the school was severely attacked by the Thai military through aerial bombardments by F-16 fighter jets and 155mm artillery strikes, causing extensive damage to the school buildings, equipment, and infrastructure, rendering the school unusable for children.
The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence reaffirmed their commitment to the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on Dec. 27, 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand on Oct. 26, 2025, and all other relevant agreements. This commitment aims to ensure rapid recovery, restore normalcy, and promote long-lasting peace and stability.
