Thmar da: The ASEAN Observers Team (AOT), coordinated by the Cambodian Ministry of National Defence, has suspended its mission in Thmar Da district, Pursat province, after hearing explosions from the Thai side of the border.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the AOT was conducting an inspection and verification of the ceasefire implementation at Checkpoint CH1 in Thmar Da commune, Veal Veng district. The mission commenced on the morning of November 19 at around 11:08 a.m.
The Ministry of National Defence issued a press release stating that during the inspection, the team heard the sound of weapon explosions originating from the Thai side. As a precautionary measure, the AOT decided to suspend the verification mission in the area and proceed with a withdrawal to ensure the safety of the team members.
