Phnom penh: The state-backed Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB) and Vattanac Bank have engaged in discussions to explore a partnership aimed at enhancing financial access for agricultural businesses and promoting sustainable practices in Cambodia's agricultural sector.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Dr. Kao Thach, Delegate of the Royal Government and Chief Executive Officer of ARDB, held a meeting with the management of Vattanac Bank on August 21 at the ARDB Headquarters in Phnom Penh. The meeting aimed to identify potential areas for cooperation between the two banks, focusing on strengthening financing for enterprises in the agricultural sector, supporting sustainable development, and promoting green finance initiatives.
The discussions covered possible financing mechanisms that could facilitate private-sector investment in agriculture, contributing to more sustainable business practices. Both parties exchanged views on potential collaboration under the Cambodia Climate Finance Facility (CCFF) as part of their efforts to enhance financial opportunities and encourage investment aligned with green and sustainable development principles.
