ARDB Chief Engages Rabobank in New Zealand for Agricultural Banking Synergies

Auckland: H.E. Dr. Kao Thach, Delegate of the Royal Government and Chief Executive Officer of the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB) of Cambodia, engaged in discussions with representatives of Rabobank during his working visit to New Zealand. The talks focused on cooperation and the exchange of expertise in agricultural banking.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the dialogue represents a positive step in bringing international financial expertise to Cambodia, supporting productivity improvements and the modernisation of the agricultural sector. The meeting was facilitated by Mr. Michael Kuoy, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce Office in Auckland, and highlighted each institution's role in supporting the agricultural sector. Discussions included bank management practices, credit policies, and strategies for working directly with farmers to boost agricultural development.

Dr. Kao Thach invited Rabobank representatives to visit Cambodia to gain first-hand insight into the country's agricultural potential and evolving financial landscape. He also proposed formalising cooperation through a future Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at promoting technical collaboration, information sharing, and stronger institutional ties.

ARDB, a state-owned bank, provides investment and revolving credit to advance agriculture, agro-industry, and rural development in line with Royal Government policies.
