The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications on Aug. 21 issued a notification on the prevention of deception via Telegram by hackers.
The announcement called on the public not to click on any suspicious links or fill out any requested information, including the receiver's telephone number and passwords.
If the link is clicked and the requested confidential information is provided, the hacker will use it to control the receiver's Telegram account, it explained.
It also provided the link (https://fb.watch/myBq2vQ2PS/), QR code, website (www.camcert.gov.kh), and contact details through which a Telegram user can learn how to terminate their response if they accidently click the hacker's link and give away their personal data and ask for help.
The ministry's notification was circulated following noticeably increasing cases of Telegram hackers.
