Business Events Set to Boost Cashew Nut Exports

Phnom penh: The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) is preparing to host two significant business events in February and March to enhance the export of Cambodia's cashew nuts to China and Japan.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the first event is scheduled for February in Phnom Penh, where a B2B matching event will take place. This event will connect Cambodian traders with 10 Chinese companies interested in buying raw cashew nuts and cashew shells. The event is a collaborative effort with the Chinese-Cambodian Industrial Economic Promotion Association.

In March, another business event is set to occur, aimed at fostering direct negotiations and partnerships between CAC members and Japanese companies. This initiative, in collaboration with the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), seeks to link Cambodian cashew processors with Japanese buyers, with an emphasis on increasing exports of Cambodian cashew kernels to Japan.

Under this programme, about 40 Cambodian cashew processing companies are anticipated to engage with approximately 20 Japanese firms that have shown strong interest in sourcing cashew kernels from Cambodia. This mission is a continuation of discussions from November 2025, leading to the confirmed visit by Japanese companies.

The Japanese delegation's visit includes a tour of CAC facilities in Kampong Thom province on March 9. During this visit, Japanese buyers will participate in field trips to local cashew operations, providing them with insights into Cambodia's production capacity, processing standards, and supply chain.

In 2025, Cambodia exported over 1 million tonnes of unprocessed cashew nuts, generating more than US$1.5 billion in revenue, as reported by CAC.
