Phnom penh: H.E. NONG Sakal, Under-Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, met with H.E. Michel PARYS, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Cambodia, who is based in Bangkok, for a courtesy call at the Ministry.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting focused on the significant progress in bilateral relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Belgium, particularly in health, education, and mine clearance. Both parties expressed their commitment to further enhancing their friendship and cooperation to new heights.
The discussion also touched on the upcoming Francophonie Summit, scheduled to take place in Cambodia in 2026, where a high-level Belgian delegation is expected to participate. This event marks an important milestone in multilateral cooperation between the two nations.
Additionally, H.E. NONG Sakal provided an update to the Belgian Ambassador regarding the latest developments along the Cambodia-Thailand border. He particularly highlighted the implementation status of the Kuala Lumpur Joint Declaration, signed on October 26, 2025, by the Prime Ministers of Cambodia and Thailand.
