Phnom penh: Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn received a courtesy call from H.E. Ms. Mark©ta Kolc H¡jkov¡, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Cambodia, at the Ministry on Jan. 22.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the meeting, H.E. Prak Sokhonn welcomed and congratulated H.E. Ms. Mark©ta Kolc H¡jkov¡ on her appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Cambodia. He expressed appreciation for the long-standing relations and cooperation between Cambodia and the Czech Republic in areas of mutual interest, and reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to working closely with the Ambassador to further strengthen bilateral relations.
The Deputy Prime Minister also thanked the Czech Republic for its continued official development assistance, which has contributed to Cambodia's socio-economic development.
Ambassador Mark©ta Kolc H¡jkov¡ emphasized the importance of regular dialogue and cooperation in all sectors. She conveyed the Czech Republic's intention to exchange high-level visits with Cambodia in 2026 to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Ambassador further committed to working closely with the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant ministries to deepen the bilateral partnership based on shared values and mutual respect during her diplomatic mission.
Both sides expressed optimism about continued mutual support within international organizations and exchanged views on regional and international issues, reaffirming their commitment to peace and stability.
H.E. Prak Sokhonn also briefed the Ambassador on the latest developments regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border situation.
