Cambodia and Denmark Set to Enhance Cooperation Ahead of 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Ties

Phnom penh: Cambodia's Acting Head of State Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen on Monday underscored the anticipated 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Denmark, emphasizing the potential for further expansion in bilateral cooperation, as reported by a Senate spokesperson.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the remarks were made during a courtesy call by H.E. Danny Annan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Cambodia, at the Solidarity Palace. Senate spokesperson H.E. Chea Thyrith provided insights into the discussions, highlighting the mutual satisfaction with the robust ties between the two nations and the hope for deepening these relations.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed optimism that the upcoming milestone anniversary would serve as an opportunity for both nations to organize activities aimed at strengthening cooperation. The Cambodian leader acknowledged the partnership's untapped potential, particularly in trade, investment, and economic development sectors.

Ambassador Annan reaffirmed Denmark's commitment to enhancing relations with Cambodia, focusing on political diplomacy and cooperation in economic, trade, and investment areas. Both leaders recognized the importance of leveraging the 60th anniversary to further solidify these ties.

During the meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen also addressed international concerns, specifically the border situation between Cambodia and Thailand. He noted that both countries are maintaining a ceasefire stance and reiterated Cambodia's position that the issue should be resolved through peaceful negotiations.
