Cambodia and New Zealand Prime Ministers Discuss Bilateral Cooperation on ASEAN Summit Sidelines


Kuala lumpur: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, engaged in a bilateral meeting with H.E. Christopher Luxon, Prime Minister of New Zealand, during the 47th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting involved discussions on expanding bilateral trade and investment opportunities. Samdech Thipadei praised the existing cooperation between Cambodia and New Zealand, highlighting the potential for growth in trade relations. He informed his New Zealand counterpart about Cambodia’s economic development and efforts to diversify its export markets and product types, leveraging various trade agreements.



Samdech Thipadei encouraged New Zealand to explore investment opportunities in Cambodia, emphasizing the country’s potential for economic collaboration. In response, H.E. Christopher Luxon acknowledged the complementary strengths of the two nations and agreed to further promote cooperation in multiple sectors.



H.E. Christopher Luxon also expressed gratitude for Cambodia’s support in establishing the ASEAN-New Zealand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Both leaders used the opportunity to exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
