Cambodia and Thailand Initiate GBC Secretariat Meeting at Prom-Pak Kard

Prom-pak kard: The General Border Committee (GBC) Secretariat Meeting between Cambodia and Thailand commenced this afternoon, as announced by H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence. The meeting began at 16:30 at the Prom-Pak Kard Permanent Border Checkpoint, located between Pailin province in Cambodia and Chanthaburi province in Thailand.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting aims to discuss and exchange documents in preparation for the forthcoming 3rd Special GBC Meeting, which is scheduled for Dec. 27, 2025. The agenda includes ensuring the cessation of hostilities and exploring solutions to restore stability between the two countries while facilitating a swift return to normalcy.

The Cambodian delegation is led by Gen. Nhem Boraden, Chief of the Cambodian GBC Secretariat, while Gen. Nuttapong Praokaew, Chief of the Thai GBC Secretariat, heads the Thai delegation. The meeting is set to take place from Dec. 24 to 26, 2025, under the observation of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) of Cambodia and Thailand.
