Washington d.c.: H.E. SUN Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), H.E. CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, and a Cambodian delegation met with H.E. Ambassador Jamieson GREER, United States Trade Representative (USTR), in Washington D.C. from Oct. 6 to 9, 2025.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, both sides applauded the significant progress achieved in negotiating the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade and discussed further steps to enhance bilateral trade relations. On July 31, 2025, Cambodia was granted 19 percent reciprocal tariff rates, reduced from the original rate of 49 percent. This achievement was the result of seven virtual conferences and three rounds of in-person meetings.
'The Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, led by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister, will continue to cooperate closely with the United States of America to achieve a mutually beneficial trade and investment relationship,' reaffirmed the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit.
