Phnom penh: The Cambodia-China Friendship Exchange Forum commenced with the objective of fostering mutual understanding among the people, building trust, and contributing to the development of an All-Weather Cambodia-China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the forum was officially opened by H.E. Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service, alongside H.E. Wang Wenbin, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia. The ceremony, held on December 15, was attended by around 300 participants, including Cambodian leaders, private sector figures, academia, entrepreneurs, researchers, artists, youth, and media representatives from both China and Cambodia.
Jointly organized by the Youth House for Cambodia-China Friendship and the China Foundation for Peace and Development, with support from the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, the forum is themed 'Silk Road Connecting People to People' and runs from December 14-16, 2025. This annual event aims to enhance and establish cooperation between private sectors, universities, research institutions, and various organizations.
In his address at the opening ceremony, H.E. Hun Many underscored the forum's role as a catalyst for strengthening people-to-people relations, particularly in cultural exchanges and business opportunities for young entrepreneurs from both nations. He highlighted the long-standing Cambodia-China friendship, nurtured by past leaders and reinforced under the leadership of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet and Chinese President XI Jinping. The leaders are committed to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership and ensuring win-win cooperation between the two countries.
He also reiterated the commitment of the Cambodia-China Youth House for Friendship to contribute to building a shared future for both nations. This includes implementing initiatives like the Diamond Cooperation Framework, the Fish and Rice Corridors, and the Industrial and Technological Corridors.
