Cambodia Engages in High-Level Dialogue on Women, Peace, and Digital Transformation

Phnom penh: Cambodian Minister of Women's Affairs H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi led a delegation to attend the High-Level Conference on 'Women, Peace and Digital Transformation: Economic Inclusion for Lasting Stability', held on Nov. 17 in Tokyo, Japan.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the conference was organized by the United Nations University (UNU) and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA). It aimed to explore the connections between women, peace and security, women's economic empowerment, and their roles in the digital economy.

In her remarks, H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi emphasized Cambodia's progress and experience in securing peace through the "Win-Win Policy" initiated by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister and current President of the Senate. This policy was instrumental in transforming the nation from conflict to stability and development.

She also highlighted the significant role of the Ministry of Women's Affairs, particularly through the ASEAN Committee on Women (ACW), in advancing the ASEAN Regional Plan of Action on Women, Peace and Security. This framework is vital in promoting women's participation in both traditional and non-traditional peace and security efforts.
